Saumur - last stay before Paris

... set up, selling mostly clothing. We went knto one of the hotels we had the name of, and decided to stay, choosing a 'superior room', which was large, had wifi and a tea/coffee maker, ( not that it really influenced me?!), and for €79 a night was good value.
We had another, unfortunate experience like we had on a previous trip, when we tried to get fuel. Many of the stations now are attached to a supermarket, are available ...

We are staying here for another day. We aren't sure yet where we will go after this. But there are several places that we are considering, including Orleans, Blois and Chinon. Amazing sight from the walls watching a storm coming in off the Atlantic Ocean very fast so we scamper back to the car and head towards Rochefort on the Atlantic Coast to the south-east of La Rochelle and ...

... with frustration at not being able to pass them. Really nothing much to see at all. Flat farmland everywhere. Drizzling rain has given way to pouring rain as we approach Tours, its nearly 4.30pm. We have been on the road for many hours. Really keen to get to our Gite. We stopped to buy fresh fish and salad for dinner and a bio break

Past Samaur and on toward Brossay. Finally through the village and we arrive at the gite.

It is stunning. Huge ...
