The farmers are not happy with changes to the agricultural policy. He made it to the ferry with just 10 minutes to spare! It’s no wonder the French are the laughing stock of Europe. It was his first real mountain climb and he wasn’t disappointed, the scenery was totally awesome with switchbacks through the woods at the bottom of the climb before getting ever steeper and slower before finally reaching the summit at 1490 metres, wow what an achievement! ... if you wanted. There were so many religious shops selling everything religious you can think of right next to each other. There would have had to be about 100 of them in Lourdes. We also saw so many priests and nuns in full outfits strolling around. Prayers, masses, rosary and confession go all day every day. You can buy candles that are 2m high to put at the alters. Back on the train to Paris and our ...

... We also filled several water bottles from the tap to drink over the next few days -- it is delicious! Rosemarie has loved St. Bernadette since she was a little girl and watched "Song of Bernadette". (In fact, one of the top contenders for Theresa's name was Bernadette, second to Genevieve. Theresa wasn't even on the list until T was born! But that is another story!) And she has dreamed of coming to Lourdes. These three days are a dream come ...
