... side of the road. The roundabouts do your head in a bit. All the French people we have met so far have been wonderful. Helpful and smiling and trying to help which is great. The countryside is delightful with tree lined roads and little villages snuggled into nooks and crannies and there is always the beautiful old church and graveyard to go with it. I am looking forward to exploring this country. The Beast is shaping up ...

After getting off the Euro Tunnel Train it was a bit of guess work as to where we would go. It was pouring with rain and cold and windy so we decided that we wouldn't go far. We have a great camp site app so I checked a few out and we hunkered down in a delightful little campground where the french lady was helpful, lovely and oh so French. Loved that. With a few days to go before our ferry and a month in Whitstable beckoning we fitted in three nights in the Loire ...

... We also visited the German Cemetery nearby again similar to the last one dark tomb stones , trees and a overall darker , somber mood . We are not sure if they are all like this or not . To improve our sprits we set off for Bruges for beer and chocolate , spirits dashed moments later when the GPS couldn't find our hotel despite multiple attempts to enter the address in different ways. We opted for the best fit and it took us up roads no wider than a suburban drive way to some ...

    Day 17 & 18 Travelling Home

... tank. With Tom Tom you can actively get prices of local fuel so I always had another garage in mind. We nipped into Carrefour for another flan for the journey home, and checked into the tunnel about 50 mines before our train. We were given an earlier train that put us back in the UK at 0930.

The drive home was long, 250 miles, 50% of yesterdays mileage, and we stopped in Sainsbury’s in Bridgend to stock up on food, Luces normal job and while I sleep in the car, but ...
