The best nights sleep since leaving home and we have to get up! We paid €6 for our bar bill and left. We popped the suitcase in the car and walked to the town, in the drizzle, for a cup of hot chocolate/tea. We were able to sit outside because Cafe Maìrìe had the sun blind wound out. We had plenty of time so we went into the cathedral and paid €3 each to go down into the newly opened Crypt. ...

... of the Town Hall there were lots of photo's of how the town looked in the 19th C.
It looks as though the Canal was much busier then than it is now.
Some of the bridges were destroyed by the Germans in WW11, rebuilt and then strategically blown up again by the Allies!
The aire at Watten is supposed to take 8 or more MH's but when we were there it was full with 6 ...

There was nothing much in the way of activities today, the highlight being Brenda and Jeff’s introduction to the Jive. Other activities included: Knit and Natter; Jolly Holly Handicrafts Get together; We Whist You a Merry Christmas (non-hosted whist drive) and, if you’re fed up with these festive play on words ...
