... at the Tour de Jeanne D'Arc which turned out to be a First World War memorial, then pointed the car north for the drive to Calais. Stopped a couple of times for a break and got to Calais around 5:30. A quick purchase of wine from Majestic, then off to check in at the hotel. La Bonne Auberge at Brêmes, is basic and clean. ... in the Costa Del Sol and a bunch of schools have popped up to support them. We found about 14 in all. We discounted the ones that seemed a little too Pink Floyd the Wall (you know…”if you don’t eat your meat…you can’t have any pudding - how can you have any pudding if you don’t eat your meat” sort of place). ... the dining room. Having finally got rid of the first sitting diners, all their rubbish left behind was shoved in to bin bags and taken away, the tables were re-laid, the head waiters were standing around as usual pointing and giving the occasional order and then…we were good to go.

... t help thinking that if we had got to the Dover Ferry Terminal 2 minutes earlier, we wouldn’t have had this experience.  This is my new favourite bar in France.
