... beginning. We had a lovely sail to Arbatax doing 7 knots and in much more comfortable conditions. We anchored outside Arbatax marina and had lunch but despite wanting to stay on the anchor, it was too rolly and we went into the marina itself. We were glad we did as it got very windy in the night and we wouldn't have felt safe in the anchorage. So there we are in Arbatax marina, enjoying ice cubes, our electric oven ...

    Carlairi to Aritzo

Traveled from Caglairi along a combination of road types. Interpreting the GPS directions took us up lanes and dead ends but the advantage was we were off the tourist routes. ... m glad it didn’t because we then explored the Beautiful City of Alghero on Foot. The first things that we noticed were the narrow streets, too narrow for cars. This city, while it belongs to Italy it certainly has Spanish and French influences. The walls of the city were old but still in good repair, these enclosed the Old part of the town. There are 7 siege towers built into the walls. After we walked we took the little train for a ride around the town at 5 ...

... br> Our last stop in Sardinia is Olbia for 1 night. The ride to Olbia was cross country from the west to the north east. The surrounding countryside was mountainous and picturesque. The road surface smooth and easy to ride. Our hotel is supposed to be in the centre on Olbia - but it isn't so we bit the bullet and started walking towards the town center. It didn't take as long as we thought and the crepe and gelati that we consumed on the way may have made the ...
