Finalmente! At the lounge. Caught 12.20 bus out to Malpensa. Took 10 minutes to walk to the Metro, catch the train and get on the express bus. So far so good. The bus drives through some awful suburbs. Challenge one. Italian chick for Qatar - and it was my fault for being in the wrong line - tried to tell me I couldn't take my 11kg hand luggage on board. She had to retract when I said I was ...

Pottered about the little town of Pella near to where we are staying. Sat on wooden bench on quayside scoffing a gelato each like oldies do apparently. Delightful. From there working our way back to the channel coast over 4-5 days. All fine and jalopy holding up so far - touch wood. Love to you all again. ...

... was OK and the food and wine was great but getting back was interesting. Fortunately, one of us had remembered her head torch and we successfully found what turned out to be the steepest flight of steps I can remember in the the pitch dark. The sort of steps where the ground seems to be about six inches from one's nose. Having a ball and weather still kind to us! Love to you all. ...

... and views across the lake to the snow covered mountains in the distance. Walking down to the village the view across the roof tops is beautiful. I love the old slate and stone roofs, so worn and all the different angles make an interesting patchwork across to the island. Of course Gilberto knows all the ferry drivers so we get to go across to the island for free! Today the church is open so we're able to have a look inside. It is very old with beautiful subtle frescos on ...
