      ... with the Doge to discuss issues after church on Sunday. Had to sit for a while to absorb all that was in this room. Went over the Bridge of Sighs into the prison complex and saw the armoury of weapons. This was a great palace visit. Had lunch, then walked over the Rialto Bridge to the Frari church.       ... I was not game to put my head under, so I had a bit of a soak and then got out to dry. We managed to find some shade under a board walk structure in amongst our close Italian friends. We read for a while until my swimmers had dried off and then walked back up the street to have some lunch, before heading home.       ... but he did hum a few bars to himself now and then, which was really very adorable. We wound through the canals and he pointed out various palazzos and museums to us. There were many gondolas out at this time of day and sometimes we got into a little traffic jam. Too soon, we were returning to the Grand Canal.
