... Disappointing but will try another today.

The he cold wind has turned everything bitterly cold and the forecast of rain tomorrow. Hedley says when he was here last year it was snowing in Burgos where we will be in two days time. Feels like it could really snow now! Brrrr!

M & M turned up this arvo and are doing good. Was fab to see them and we all had dinner together. Top of the world day. Grateful.

... places seemed to be closed, and we had a heck of a time trying to find the way into the 7km of underground wine tunnels that supposedly snaked beneath our feet. After a fruitless search and a pretty bridge we decided to stop for lunch, and luckily this area is also known for its lamb, traditionally cooked in a big clay oven in ceramic dishes and served in quarters. We ordered a half a lamb between the 4 of us which they brought to the table and hacked up with a massive butchers ...

... this all happened after Franco - and everyone got to do their own thing...and we haven't even mentioned Catalonia! Anyway, I think we will remain in Castilla y Leon for quite a while as it is a huge area, until we get to Galicia at the end, towards Santiago. ... patterns has been an adjustment. Before dinner we had a pincho (another word for tapas) of morcilla, the blood sausage, this time as a croquette. Thank goodness for all the walking because we could not eat like this otherwise. And we always have an eye open for a gelateria, aka gelato.
