This beautiful castle built on the River Cher was home to five different ladies between 1499-1836; Diane De Poitiers, Catherine de Medici, Louise of Lorraine, Louise Dupin and Marguerite Pelouze. During the First World War, it served as a hospital. Although the crowds were large, we enjoyed seeing this charming and beautifully restored residence. Continued on until we got to Cheverny where we sat and had lunch in a lovely picnic ...

... was there, this one looked okay but not worth spending more money on to go and visit inside so we drove to our last one which was Villandry built in 1536 and the last of the big castles build in the renaissance time along the Loire. Again extremely beautiful with a big beautiful French garden. Food for lots of pictures again .... After a couple of hours walking through the gardens and visiting the different floors with rooms we walked out of this beautiful place and drove back to the ...

... rewarding that evening – with our bruises and tired legs, a warm meal and a nice glass of wine was the perfect touch. A street musician played the accordion all throughout our meal and added a lovely tone to the evening. We danced under the stars and reminisced on our last adventure in France.

Our adventures in France were absolutely breathtaking – a complete blessing and the perfect way to be reunited. Ken and I had spent the past year sharing stories via ...
