Nice character hotel just outside of the main square. Excellent service and the restaurant is to die for.

We didn't really think about photo opportunities during the day as we were focused on riding in a group, staying safe on the roads and getting used to the bikes. One of the kings/princes/dukes who owned it for 65 years only visited it for 3 days in that period.... After this, (I have plenty of photos, but no wifi, so they'll have to wait, I'm sorry), we headed off for Amboise and another ...

... been reconstructed. Chinon reminds us a little of Amboise with the town square between the river and the fortress. We had lunch in the historic square of Chinon which is a lovely French town with lots of character. We then went on to the chateau of Azay Le Rideau renowned for its fairy tale turrets and setting - also set up against the water on one side. Much smaller than ...
