... the biggest dune in the world could be in France and not in the Sahara or Namibia or somewhere, but having seen it and walked up it 3 times, I can confirm it must be a contender. Running down it as fast as possible was really fun and made the beasting of climbing it totally worth it, as did the views.

... a waterfilled cave at the foot of a limestone cliff, the amount of water is huge and may become enormous during spring and after heavy rain.
There's a prehistoric cave here, the Grotte Sarrazine, that is partly accessible, with clear signs to it. We arrived too late in the day to make the visit. Never mind! We've seen several grottes in this area that display stunning stalactites and stalagmites, that show off whole chambers of natural rock formations, ...

... Instead, when you get down south, head east for the towns of Cannes, Antibes and of course Nice. They all sound like overly expensive places, but in reality it is not that expensive, and so much better. Of course you will bump into an unfriendly French nationalist once in a while, but just keep on smiling, and think.. 'they are trying their best...'.
