... is made up of smooth, pale stones rather than sand. Certainly Nice has a beautiful setting as it rests up against a wide expansive bay with mostly bush clad hills with housing overlooking it. We are back in Cannes about 6pm. Another awesome day, however after two days doing a lot of walking and sightseeing in heat around the mid thirties we are very tired and perhaps have not seen as much of Nice as we could ...

The sand dune at Pyla on the Atlantic Coast was absolutely enormous, and totally took me by surprise. I had refused ...

... to the train station to go back to Nice. Once we made it back to the hostel we all showered and freshened up so we could go out to eat. This is when I really realized how red I was. My face is starting to blister a little bit and I am terrified of what I will feel like in the morning but I applied some aloe moisturizer and am hoping that will do the trick. My pale white skin just doesn't do well here! After we were all ready to go we took ...

... t see any of the channel below me. French ATC was efficient, gave me direct routing shortcuts to waypoints farther down my route. Ran into ice again in the clouds at FL090. Asked for and got lower, FL070, but after the descent the temperature didn't rise at all. In my experience temperature gradients with altitude in real weather are rarely the 2 degrees C per 1000 feet they teach to pilots. So I lived with 0 degs at FL070 expecting it to ...
