... amp; shallots poured on top. I could have eaten a barrel of these! Now came the small fried smelts, delicious! Then the fish soup was served in a beautiful French white tureen. Accompanied with sliced baguettes that you smear with the garlic mustard & top with cheese & put them in the soup. The taste of the fish soup was mind bogglingly delicious, I kept eating to guess all the ingredients.
I forgot to mention that Patrick & Jackie's place is in Mandelieu-La Napoule, which is west of Cannes.
Driving through Nice yesterday was a crazy experience, but great for people watching. You have to have nerves of steel to deal with the loads of people who appear out of no where in front of your car to cross the street. Then there's all the beautiful yachts to look at in the harbor & yes, the people are quite beautiful themselves. ...

Some highlights of the trip so far:
Red Bull Cliff Diving in La Rochelle was absolutely mental. 27 metres is really high, and these dudes do twisting summersaults into the water! We also both really liked La Rochelle and would like to re-visit one day and spend some more time there.

Most of the day was spent in the bus today. We spent the morning traveling from Parma to the sea port of Genoa, home port of the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. We reached the city at 13h00 and spent an hour and a half walking around the harbour area.
