... be fair, given the new fiscal policy of Chancellor Shep was not bad, showered, changed and hit the town. I'm pretty sure the only reason we decided not to charter a 100m yacht for our journey was because we didn't want to let Hertz down for the hire of the Mini, but walking into St Tropez I kinda wish we would have taken something slightly more in keeping with the locals. Like a Ferrrari. Both virgins to the area, I ...

Some highlights of the trip so far:

Red Bull Cliff Diving in La Rochelle was absolutely mental. 27 metres is really high, and these dudes do twisting summersaults into the water! We also both really liked La Rochelle and would like to re-visit one day and spend some more time there.

Our dessert went down very well indeed! Only a little bit left for whoever wakes up first for breakfast... Sad to be leaving tomorrow ...

... The sand had been raked overnight and showed no footprints.

There was of course the occasional random act with one chap swinging his arm vociferously. You could be forgiven, given the date, for the thought that he was signalling an off-shore U-Boat with a belly full of Third Reich storm troopers from the dark side of the moon (for the uninitiated, please see “Iron Sky”, a totally bonkers movie from a Norwegian chap). However, no need to worry ...

Onward, we drove south through twisting, winding country roads, past signs for the prehistoric 'grottes' (caves) that are in abundance in this area, through the pretty village of Eternoz and on to Nans-sous-Sainte-Anne, forty-four kilometres south of Besanšon where Source du Lison and the Pont du Diable are situated.

The Source du Lison (translated Spring of the Lison) is an impressive karst spring,
The river flows out of the ...
