... to the hotel - was about 1.5km and hopefully down hill. What I hadn't planned on was the lack of path or where there was a path it was gravel. I was hot and tired when I finally reached the corner where the hotel was supposed to be. I called out to a waitress through the open windows of a restaurant if she knew where the Quercy hotel was and she came out running and helping me - was next door and part of the restaurant. ... unusual. The French are connoisseurs with many foods and wine but not the coffee we were accustomed with. I looked out the window this afternoon and walking through the car park was a man (a Billy Connelly look alike) with a crow sitting on his forearm! The evening was spent with Sue and Peter - and was very entertaining. Peter reminds me so much of Ted Forsyth and has such a wonderful dry wit. This was a wonderful way to celebrate the ride, the friendships and the fun we had all had. Dinner was again amazing. As usual we had a set menu with a choice of 2 or 3 courses. The food was superb (except for the tagliatelle) and the service was impeccable. Some chose a starter and main while others had main and dessert - ...

... a little layby and were envious of the sky blue water inviting us for a dip in the backyard pool of the house we had stopped by. There was also a cake on the outdoor table cooling in the sun - seemed a little odd. The chateaux we could see was actually Mick Jagger's 16th century villa La Fourchette. After visiting the chateaux, I would love to see what the average/normal house looks like! We have passed though ...

... though they could have done with a few good feeds - they certainly had a lot of ribs showing. Next was a toilet stop - just along the river a little further. It work us a while to find it - it was one of the auto flushing and light sensor ones. The mens was totally open air. It was also the first time we had seen serious (pro like) cyclists - and there were probably 40 of them whiz by in a large bunch. After lunch we did a leisurely ride to Château ...
