After traveling together for 5 months, we said our goodbyes to Wade, Alyssa, and Christine and sent them home with hugs and kisses for our friends and family. After a short 2 days extra in Barcelona, trying to make sense of what Eurail pass to get, we hopped on our first high speed train and headed to the French Alps. Now while Christine was with us we stayed in airBNB's (rented apartments and condos) but I (Tammy) must admit I missed the hostels, no that ...

When they are here there's heaps more to cleanup in the morning (sometimes finish 1.30pm), and because they eat early we are in the kitchen from about 4.30 till 10pm. When its just adults, we are finished in the morning by 11am and then we start about 6pm and finish about the same time so have much more time to ourselves.

... and not the cliff-side, so it landed in the powder snow about 5m below us, with only the cord hanging out! There was no way any of us would be able to retrieve it, but we figured if we found someone with climbing gear they may be able to help us. Eventually we found a staff member who put on his crampons and climbing gear, abseiled down off the bridge and retrieved the camera for us. We were so very thankful (as the camera was FULL of photos from this incredible trip) that ...

... path of the many riders was always going to be a highlight. The weather started rather ominously with a 24 hour lightning storm and the ultimate rain test for our little tent. We came out the other side with minor leaks and were granted 2 weeks of spectacular weather and 30 deg days. We couldn't have been luckier and in total we climbed 4 of the famous cols and a host of ...
