... into the bay for a city break. Testament to the area's fish were not only the sealions but also the fishermen gathered on the wharf. The port was an industrial one and large orange fishing boats were stacked in rows with enormous red cranes leaning across them in puppet-mast fashion. I was reminded of Toy Story's Claw.

... there is an open grill area with a special chef that is separate from the main kitchen. This chef cooks the most tender and delicious meats over the open-flamed grill and you'll see in the photos that the serving sizes are more than generous. Of course we had to have more Malbec wine to accompany every steak! Raiders of the Lost Ark Josh here...so I think Mar Del Plata was where I had the best coffee in South America. Still not as good as the perfect flat ...

... see why. However, given the combination of the coolish weather and the freezing temp of the water in the Atlantic Ocean, a swim just ain't gonna happen. At least not here. We will have plenty of opportunity in Brazil.

For some reason it very much reminds me of English seaside resorts with its brown sand, and approx 1000 umbrellas and canvas beach huts all set up for holidaymakers to hire. Even the pier is similar to the ones ...

We got up fairly early and headed to the nice beach we visited a few days ago. The weather was a little overcast this morning but was forecast to brighten up later in the afternoon. This would be our last day here in Mar del Plata before going to Buenos Aires.
