... on the canal path. It was all big! We passed through some really ancient farming communities along the River Saulx which is a fast flowing beautifully clean weedy river. This is where we sat and saw the biggest water rat ever along with a very old sedate trout! Great ride. I'm really going to miss this country's quite roads and little hamlets unspoilt by time. France is special. Back at our Aire. Elvis takes a hit! Needless to say Clive was wrecked when we got back to ...

  • Musee des Beaux Arts de Nancy - My personal favorite, just on Place Stanislas. This museum had artwork from the 15th century to now. Lots of really great stuff to see, but I included my personal best. Picasso's "Homme et femme" and Yayoi Kusama's "Fireflies on the Water." Kusama's work was inside a mirrored box, the bottom floor of water with dangling lights from the ceiling. It was ...

... was nice to sit and bond with the girls, especially because Amy was the first to attempt to do laundry! Basically we didn’t know how to lock the lid or that we had to lock it manually so we all thought the machine was broken. Anyways it was quite the laugh and took twice as long as normal. They are also helping me to master my French, well superficially my catch phrase "Je ne parle pas français."

... even carnival rides! There's a stage and also a zoo! My favorite part was the most amazing garden I've ever seen, one full of over 1,000 roses. How beautiful is that?!! I am a HUGE fan of roses. Although white roses are my favorites, red roses always steal my heart. I hope I can see this garden blossom soon, although with the temperatures quickly dropping, I will be extremely lucky if I see one rose blossom by the time I have to return to the States.
