... 3 was probably a little over ambitious. Nigel and R2D2 took off a little late but overall it's been a good first day. Lots of travel on what can only be described as shockin roads in Belgium was a little boring at times. But the strawberry flan, The Twits, a great swim followed by a superb pasta were the highlights for me. Yup the first day went well. I'm getting picked up by a nice girl quite ...

... next half hour. It was really frustrating as we’d chosen to avoid the route through Lille due to THEIR roadworks – no idea why we just sat there, as the other 2 lanes were still flowing, but nobody could get out so we just gazed forlornly at the back of a Czech lorry. This happened twice more before we finally got going again. This delay then landed us on the Brussels ring road at ...

    Overnight at Charleville-de-Meziers

A travel blog entry by thereays on Sep 16, 2013

Monday morning dawns clear and sunny, and we set off for Charlesville de Meziers.

Apart from some heavy traffic, on the outskirts of Lille, a completely uneventful drive.

The Aire at Charlesville de Meziers is full, so, we have to use the adjacent campsite (Camping Mount Olympus ).

We have time for a walk into town, and a beer, before the rain starts.
