Stefan himself began helping with archaeological digs in the area when he was seven or eight years old, and he was at the dig the day the above-mentioned helmet was found. The beehive-shaped tomb was small and cramped but contained an interesting ceiling fresco that has been interpreted as a wedding scene, a funeral scene, and a coronation scene. Burgas was a pleasant surprise. Our Czech advisor did not recommend it however The Lonely Planet – Europe on a Shoestring, gave the town a positive review. We got there at about 8am and headed for the seafront and adjacent park / recreation area.
We had a good couple of hours there. We walked along the beach. The central area was a "Blue Flag" beach then there was a notice that said ...
... around and then... I slapped something. Definitely felt like a fish. A BIG fish. Manta ray was the first thing that came to my mind (don't laugh!). Without a hesitation, I started swimming back to the beach, freaking out a little. David was laughing his ass off at me- until he slapped the thing too.
