Finally we went to little pub I guess you could call it. Now the original 15 or so teachers present at the start was just me and 3 others. The first half was a group of percussionists and the second was a cover band. Before the concert and during the intermission there was a silent auction but it wasn't very profitable, not only because of lack of people, but also because I think the Japanese are too nice to ...

... rice, etc.

The ferry we took up to Hokkaido (north island where Sapporo is) was a 2013 build and was very much to Japanese scale - not much extra space. As you can see in he picture, we had bunk beds the first night.....not too bad since you're really only sleeping in the cabin, but since I'm not use to sharing a room, it wasn't the most restful night.
