    ... weight of the ice was lifted from the area and the land started to slowly rise. This is why the oldest carvings are located higher up on the hill. The most recent carvings are 2,000 years old and located closer to the waters edge. It was quite interesting looking at the different skills and priorities of the carvings and the thousands of years past. The area itself it a wonderfully serene place and quite easy on the eye.

    We left Nordkapp at 7.30 am, while most others were still asleep. We retraced our steps back to the mainland and found a nice bay on the coast where we stopped for breakfast. There were several reindeer around.

    ... stay for up to 48hrs in the Alta museum carpark and gave us a card with the password for the free wifi.

    ... 8217;d finished, he got a well-deserved standing ovation. He wants to get himself on X-Factor or something like that – he’s better than some of the rubbish we’ve seen.

    Afterwards we whiled away some time joining in the disco and enjoying a couple of night-caps. Then it was off to bed, once again after 1.00am. Time flies when you’re having fun.
