Between occasional ascents and on and off rain (and rain-gear - check out the two videos) the ride was tiring. To add to today's riding challenge we decided to let Ms G direct us the last 15km as she would undoubtedly trim time and kilometres off the journey. We were wrong. Our meal on the balcony is accompanied by the various chiming bells of the local farmer's herd of sheep, which graze just below where we are seated. We return to Wangen after a most pleasant afternoon and evening. Esther is considered to be at least part-Aussie after spending many years in Melbourne and her son is defintely as much an Aussie as he is German!  It was a wonderful but short-lived ...

... through it, as it seemed kind of cool. All of a sudden we are hit by this god awful smell, something of a hybrid between vomit and dog poo. We check our shoes...nothing there...then i look down at my pants
and there is some kind of slimy spots scattered over me. 'Could this be bird poo?'. Getting the train was rather embarrassing, and i was not happy about the situation, even though Dan thought it was hilarious!
