    ... along the lake. It was huge and beautiful. We drove to Thun where our hotel was for the night. We were a little disappointed that we didn't have WiFi in our room, just in the main building areas. So, Eldon worked on some plans, and I read my book.

    The rain is gone and we're enjoying the Swiss Alps, using the Lauterbrunnen Valley as our base. This morning we benefitted greatly from a hostel with early check-in hours. We were able to travel from Interlaken, unpack in Lauterbrunnen, get all our hike information, pack the day bags and set out before noon on a 5 and a half to 7 and a half hour round trip, depending on ability and stops for food, rest and photo taking.

    ... climbed the stairs to the rental counter, cleared the paper work in less then a minute and we where on our way....by train ?? Hum....no, we have plenty of time, why don't we take the paddle steamer to Lausanne?
    That's a deal, let's do that.
    The return trip was on the clearest and warmest day we had for some time, enjoying the sun, the water and scenery, sailing from Geneva to Yvoire (France) and back along the coast the Lausanne.

    ... speeds but we only reached 72 km/h (JJ) and 82 km/h (Paul) due to the more grippy snow. Finally we completed the course and headed up the Innerwengen chair. This was followed by a race down the World Cup Slalom course to beat the chair lift by a good margin. The course was not a smooth as the last two days so we stuck at one run and headed into Wengen to catch the train.
    After the more difficult conditions we are both tired but pleased with the days ...

    ... at the train station in Zurich on Thursday and we headed straight to Luzern. We stayed at the student appartment of her friend, which was amazing and headed straight out to the carnival which was in full flow. What a great night it was. The streets were full of fully dressed up Swiss folk dancing and drinking. It was a perfect night. We drunk copious amounts of Gluhwein and 'Schumli phlumli'. We also ate Raclette, which is delightful. Melted cheese ...
