It is not that easy to have two people move in the same direction. Take the duration of the vacation. What sounds easy at first (two months of unpaid leave) becomes complicated once new jobs and bosses are involved. And the destination could have been Southeast Asia, Nepal or the Alps but became the famous Trans-Siberian Train ride, just because Joelle mentioned it. And because I liked it.
