... the motorway alongside, however the satnav had other plans or so I thought.

It was telling me to "Make a U-turn 1.8km ahead"!! I stopped and looked at the map and was convinced I was heading North and just needed onto the motorway and so I ignored the satnav and continued, that was until I realised what it was telling me to do!!

Here up ahead it told me to turn left and onto a road which was facing totally the opposite way from which I was travelling, in ...

We waited and waited for Tom and John - wondering how their high mountain walk was treating them! Laurie finally called John to make sure they were still conscious. :-). She advised them NOT to take the higher path as we had watched some folks walking here. Sheer cliff on one side and only ...

... br> parallel to the main motorway (which appeared to be elevated on concrete piers
most of its route). The motorway was busy and even the local road was busy, Not
pleasant driving. This is a main north-south arterial route.

Stopped at Camping Corones. Luxurious site, with heated
sanitary facilities and a heated outdoor pool, but somehow we did not like it.
Full of Germans and very “ordered” parking.

... of another gorge but we are too old for this sort of thing, so
we called it a day, had lunch and started our return journey.

All in all, a very nice days walking – 4+ hours in all.
Returned to camp, did the laundry and caught up on some overdue tasks. The
weather outlook is not good for the next few days, so it looks like it might be
time to move on. The question is, “where to?”.
