We decided to try our luck with the Saturday trains, with a single 2nd class ticket costing 10rs (about 10p) for a journey of 45 mins you can't really beat it. The trains themselves are pretty old and hurtle along at speed with the doors wide open ( I'm not sure that they even have any doors) but they also have women's only compartments and plenty of room. Instead of holding it till the next day the sent a Nike minion all the way back to our hotel, which is a 35 minute walk, so he could get his money and the shirt without having to come back!
