Very nice hotel, very clean and pretty. Good for a quick stopover but not sure if it's near much if you are wanting to sight see. Breakfast was fab - best muesli ever.

Had a walk around Saint - Quentin this morning and had some lovely croissants and pan au chocolate from Patissier Boulanger in the square. Fantastic buildings and an amazing clock tower where the bells ring an amazing melody every half hour.

The kids and I woke up to get ready and head to the Eiffel Tower. Our hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. Sandy and I got up at 7:30 from our single beds (both in line along one wall) and got ready to head to the train station to pick up our tickets for our trip up Mount Pilatus. We discovered that we could walk to the the intersection near the train station and then descend an escalator to a bustling mall right under the street. We picked up two great looking cinnamon rolls and a Coke ...

... for the evening and it was tiny! I can see why Ikea is popular over here. But it was clean and oddly very modern. After dinner, we took a river boat ride to see the city and it was a really good way to see the sights. What I've noticed about Europe is that it really is as picturesque as it sees on tv and in books. And it's very relaxed! We really enjoyed a gelato on the walk back from the bus. Currently Playing: some sort of dance techno on the ...
