Very nice hotel, very clean and pretty. Good for a quick stopover but not sure if it's near much if you are wanting to sight see. Breakfast was fab - best muesli ever.

Had a walk around Saint - Quentin this morning and had some lovely croissants and pan au chocolate from Patissier Boulanger in the square. Fantastic buildings and an amazing clock tower where the bells ring an amazing melody every half hour.
Started out on our journey to Switzerland which took so much longer than we expected as there were quite …

... and the views were spectacular, we were so high we were above the clouds. At times visibility was less than 2 metres - quite eerie. We stayed on the mountain for about 2 hours had lunch there, off course we took our own you know what. The descent by train also provided magnificent views. We trained it back to Lucerne about a 20 minute ride.

Day four we set off to a Sempach a small holiday village around ...

Nothing like ending our vacation days with an endurance challenge. We took the typical trains, to bus, to gondolas routine and ended up on the top of Mt Titlis (Not pronounce "titless" but "titeless"). This was our perfect weather day with the sun shining brightly. I imagine the word "spectacular" originated while someone stood on the peaks of this mountain and looked down. This is the most snow we have seen yet and the summer tourists packed the gondolas to the ...

... grandmother (Mutti) today so took a bus.

This was a slightly longer bus ride, enroute partway the bus was boarded by 3-4 people in dark uniforms. Ticket guys - random check!

Buses have at least 3+ doors for boarding so at a stop they all got on through separate bus doors. A little intimidating to see but interesting. So that's how they check buses. On trains and boats, ticket-guy(s) go through and check everyone aboard and ...

... from King Ludwig II in Bavaria and his famous castle, Neuschwanstein (New Swan Stone), of which you can see a photo in my very first blog entry from Germany. Anyway, it was a nice day and a nice trip. There are two unfortunate results of this trip that I dare to mention. One, the tasty Swiss dark chocolate I purchased to send home, mysteriously disappeared on a piece by piece ...
