... didn't take long as there is not a lot to see apart from the castle. After the walking tour we went up the hill in mini vans for a castle tour. Cochem, with a population of 6,000 inhabitants, is probably the most visited village along the Moselle River. More than half the houses were destroyed in WWII when the railway which runs along the river was bombed. Because the mountains around here are black slate, there is a law that all roofs must be ...

This is Siegfried's private collection of mechanical self-playing musical instruments and organs from 1780 to 1930. Visited the Nazi documentation centre today in Nuremberg. It took the full two hours to go through. Pretty amazing series of events that led to Hitler coming to power. We ate a bagged lunch by the bus. I found mine to be disgusting and chucked most of it in favour of a cliff bar. We then did a walking tour of old Nuremberg. Very similar to,Rothenburg but much smaller and it is a replica as 90% of this city ...

... renting a car for the day and driving from Bingen to Koblenz. The road is good and there are pull off spots to view castles. Stop in several villages because they are delightful. Another wonderful day of weather. I can't believe how good the weather has been on all my trips to Europe. Heading home tomorrow with a flight out if Frankfurt. Boo ...
