      Exploring Rhine River!

A travel blog entry by jackxy08 on Nov 23, 2014

An hour drive from Trier, we finally reached Koblenz. Got to see a piece of Berlin wall, had a typical German meal Schweinshaxe (Pork Knuckle with mashed potato and Sauerkraut) pair with a local beer! Yum! After our meal, we headed to the cruise port for an hour ride to explore the Rhine River.

The main road from here was fine for riding. It was a bit wet but still ok
so long as I watched out on the curves.

The day was spent at the Nurburgring – Fun park for rev-heads. Stan and Dave enjoyed it.

Once we got home we needed some wine to enjoy our balcony. So began our wonderful relationship with Stefan and his Wine Paradise.

... in later that evening, and about what time would we be there....exactly. Agreed upon 18.00.

The most incredible dahlias. Do well at the Easter Show Flower Pavillion. Dahlias have been popping up regularly in private and public gardens, stunning colours and the size is amazing, but these have to be the largest yet!

Walked along the waterfront of both the Rhine and the Mosel. ...

... around six consecutive days of temperatures below -7 degrees. The grapes are harvested and turned into wine when they are frozen. Some winters no ice wine is able to be produced. The wine tasting finished and we then drove down the road to our hotel for the night, run by a German couple. We showered then went to the bar downstairs to have a few drinks and watch the soccer. We didn't have too big of a night as we all wanted to save ourselves for our massive Saturday night in ...
