At 17.00 the ship set sail for Vienna passing under many of the beautiful bridges that join Buda to Pest. That evening we had the Captain's cocktail party followed by the welcome gala dinner. Original manuscripts in the music collection include Mozart's Requiem and Richard Strauss's opera Der Rosenkavalier. Such a beautiful building in the Baroque style!

We also spent more time looking at the exterior of Hofburg Palace. I mentioned in an earlier ...

... that were just used as lookouts and fortresses. The princess castles are so much more fairy-tale like and more what someone might imagine when the word castle is used. Bratislava castle is a princess castle, or was anyway. The wind was blowing so ********** the hill where the castle was that we could not stay up there very long. Just thinking about it now makes me cold all over again.

From the castle we headed to St. Michael's Gate. This gate is the only ...
