... Vintgar Gorge National Park for a quick hike. We've been fortunate to visit a a lot of pretty places and this one held up. A very tight river gorge with beautiful foliage and fantastic light. Well worth the stop and a great beginning to Bled.

... to purchase tickets to get into the Gorge, but it was well worth it! The entire trail is either very well-maintained boardwalks or maintained trails, taking you deep into the gorge for picturesque, clear, pristine river/stream and its equally as stunning sheer walls and cliffs!
The hike takes about 1.5 hours round trip and the pictures speak for themselves! It was a fantastic side trip as we made our way to Lake Bled!

... there is a church on the island smothered in trees and the spire just reaches above the trees. Circling the lake, we soon realised that many families were visiting. A few wooden boats sailed across to the island but other than that the lake was untouched. Eventually we found a spot to lay our towels down and enjoy the glorious sunshine next to 4 jetties.
