... our room was in a modern block, the main castle-y part of the Hotel is all big stone and high ceilings and wood panelling. The standard of service is exceptional, and the wild flowers in the grass are divine.

... the castle they had an ice cream. Willow said she could not imagine as a child sitting in the square below Colditz Castle eating ice cream. She has read a book called " The Colditz Story" by a man who got all the way home, called Pat Reid.
We found a really quiet campsite near Leipzig with open loos and short grass. It is raining quite hard. What will the night be like?

On June 11th we will travel to the US for the first time. We are flying with a turbo prop to Amsterdam and from there to JFK. We will stay a week in NYC before continuing to LAX and from there explore California and some of the US' southwest.
