unhealthy goodies. The trouble when going into one of these places for
a bite to eat is that unless you know Hungarian, it's almost impossible
to know ahead of time whether you're going to get something sweet or
savoury! I'm not complaining though, as it's all been pretty good!

... light brightens up the room, I suddenly find myself being part of this historic moment on the battle fields of North Hungary after one of the most crutial wins that provided these nomadic people with a home for thousands years to come. It was truly a humbling experience for all of us including Rayden who later on mentioned the picture as a most favorite part of the day.

Things really shut down in Europe on Sundays and Szeged was no exception. It's particularly bad in smaller towns when you're hungry and everything's closed...we felt like hobos, searching for food, and especially so when we stumbled across a Knorr van offering free soup-in-a-bun samples, and dove in!

Aside from closed shops though, there were certainly more pretty buildings, and even a lovely fountain to see!

... I learnt some words and how to count until... 3. Well, it's not so easy. I try to read signs but look what signs they have. Look at this city. How can you remember such long and impossible words? My room is really huge. It has a huge double bed and it has a balcony overlooking the yard with vines. The restaurant is really fabulous. It was so tasty.

... and her Hungarian boyfriend, Gergor. When he shook my hand he said, "my name is Gergor," and I thought, "oh good, he speaks english." But his english pretty much ended there, and Valerie was called upon to translate for the next two days, which I'm sure was exhausting for her, because Gergor clearly like to talk. Occasionally he would break out some english, and say something like "Shakespeare: To beer, or not to beer. That is the question." Another thing ...

In the arvo Zoli fixed the lock on the toilet door at his parents only to find his dad drill did not work and could repair the lock, so we headed out to OBI which is like Bunnings at brought a new cordless drill and accessories, which made the job much easier for Zoli. Tuesday we spent the day at the weekend house, Abby had a ball in and out of the water and the baby baths which cooled her down ...

... phone to try and help us thru the set up which was involved in downloading some software so it would be combatible and be able to use the internet for free. This was still unsuccessful as i have the program on my laptop but it wasnt recognise my registration for some reason. It was all too confusing as ZOli was trying to get the info from the technition and intructions on the startup page which was all in hungarian then translate them to ...

Abby's bucket and tip all the little pebbles they had just scooped in, Abby says no, no and tried to pull bucket off the little girl, i tried to tell her in emglish what the little girl wanted then the little girl turned around to me and said MIT?? which means what??, her grandfather said sorry, she doesn't understand what u r saying, (i did understand what he said to me with my limited hungarian vocab. Anyway i should head back home ...
