... t believe my eyes when I saw all these precious mementos in time. I tried to take myself back in time, before I was even born, and imagine what a fair would have been like then. By the time I was born many of these object were replaced by more modern, daring rides and had lost all charm. We all walked around for a couple hours as the man played the musical organs and we looked at every piece he had collected. Thanking him very much for opening up his ...

Annabel isn't coming to Belgium anymore and the tour ended up being booked out. So now I am sitting in an internet cafe in Essen trying to work out what to do for the day. I have been looking on a website to see if I can find a castle to visit. I may have found one too! It's not too far away which is good cos it means I can get back reasonably easily.
So this week has ...
... looking things, violin-ish sounding ones and weird keyboard/piano sounding things. And really cute little twangy guitars. The percussion section was amazing! And then there were solo artists. One solo artist brought a flute onto the stage that was probably 3 metres long. 3 people held it and played the notes with their fingers and the one guy blew into it! Incredible, low, hollow sounds! Wow!
I really loved the imagery that accompanied the music. There were always ...
... 8364; (accom with Stefan, the guy I met on the train Fri) or Prague -78€ (plus accom in a Youth hostel) I have no idea what I want to do...I hate being so indecisive!
And that's about it. Don't know how frequently I will be able to leave u messages from Berlin as I am not sure where an internet cafe is. But I am sure it will all work out. So u may hear from me next week and if u don't, my next entry will probably be just as long if not longer than this one!
Until then,
Sarah
Hello everyone in the warm country back home.
It is now officially Winter. Yesterday the highest temperature was -3 and today on the way to Uni it snowed! Only slightly, but never the less, there was snow. This weekend it is supposed to snow quite a lot. I am looking forward to it. I will be in Lauterbach, Wurzburg and Rothenburg, and all will look so romantic covered in white. My teacher warned me that if the snow persists, I will have to ...
... singers were superb. The overture and the orchestra were amazing!
After the Opera, I made a snack for tea and then went to bed.
Monday morning we had language, and then in the afternoon we had IKK where we looked at prejudices, stereotypes, cliches and jokes. Most of them were quite funny, however all written in German. If I get the chance I will try and translate a couple to post on my next blog.
After class I went into ...
... being down due to the hurricane. We just hoped that everything would be Ok and left the station. We walked along the shopping promenade and Lauren bought a Karneval hat for her friend who collects hats. It was shaped like a toaster with 2 pieces of bread. Then we ate dinner before going to the Opera.
Once we stepped inside, we felt really excited and also really unnerved. We were the only people there who were not beautifully dressed. Mostly ...
Hello,
I made it. I survived the hurricane thankfully! The aftermath made my weekend a bit chaotic as all of the trains were cancelled because of trees falling on the tracks and warping the tracks too. That meant that my plans didn't go exactly as planned..... Let me take u back to Thursday night...
The wind was howling, and whistling eerily outside while the trees were swaying frantically in the breeze. 40 students sat in their rooms ...
... sure that I go to my room and then give me a call at the hotel. I have to be there because I am not allowed to go out anywhere. Thanks so much for ur message! It makes me miss u even more!
Don"t worry about my safety. Luckily the hurricane changed direction and will hit the eastern states worse than here.
So I"ll go now. Still cooking dinner and it's 10pm. I will try and leave another blog entry tomorrow if I can to let u know what I get up to.

... but now the wind and rain have set in and it is quite uncomfortable to be outside. We are assured of it snowing at least once while we are here. I am partly looking forward to it, and so glad that I bought my big warm jacket in Munich.
I have to go now because I have a politics lecture about to begin. I hope that you are all enjoying your summer weather and taking pity on me and my freezing conditions.
My love to you all,
Sarah
