A travel blog entry by jimbeaux on Sep 29, 2015

We arrived in Crete, quite early in the morning. I tried to sleep in, but the gentle rolling of the ship was enough to wake me. Looking out our window, We saw the port (even though we are on the starboard – or "right" side of the ship).

HOT. HUMID. Dark clouds collecting off in the distance seem menacing as they ever so slowly drift across the black and blue sky picking up moisture along the way. We have ...

A bit cool to start with but very refreshing and as the weather started to change from the south it was warmer in than out. We hopped out and ventured into town for a snack. Found a lovely bakery where we had hot chocolate, profiteroles (called "soo" here) and chocolate mousse. As we sat the weather closed in complete with ...

... of town we found it only had a 1/2 tank of fuel. We rang and told them, bit of a casual bunch, not like hiring a car in Oz. Ali drove back to our resort before we swapped for the afternoon excursion. Ali navigated us up into the Lassithi Plateau which took in some good sights of a large dam and gorges. Mel got used to the small, tight and winding roads, changing gears ...
