Long drives along Dalmatian Coast
We drove from Split to Dubrovnik along the coastal highway, liked it so much we decided to drive the coast all the way back to Rovinj with an overnight stay in Zadar. The drive from Dubrovnik to Zadar took six hours or so and the drive north of Zadar to Rovinj was about an hour less.
The southern part of the highway puts Big Sur highway in mind, narrow winding mountain roads with steep drops into oblivion and the sea. ...
Ice hockey
we stoped in Pula to say hello to Marco (old business partner of Dide) and it turned out that there was an international hockey tournament taking place in the collesiem (almost 2000 years old) between Croatia and Russia - what a treat.
Finally, made our way down to Metcovic, just in time for one day of sun on the beach, before the rain - forcast for the next couple of days.
More to follow as i need to sign off now as we need to get the car back to Metcovic.

High speed ferry to this beautiful town
... and steep stairs to the third floor of the building, took off running to the boat. He had no luck. The following morning he tried again by calling the ferry company but they reported no camera had been found. So cursing humankind I resolved to put it behind me and search for a new one when we get to Ljubjlana.

Sun in Croatia
... had been fully refurbished. We chose the latter, in spite of the potential downside of being quite close to the bar/restaurant and the playground, with its potential for noise. There was indeed a bit of noise, but from the bar it was that gentle murmur of evening conversation, and from the playground the sound of kids enjoying themselves with very little of the screaming and arguing and tears so ...
Enfin les Balkans...
... sont payant et il est impossible de faire du camping sauvage dans les environs, nous passerons donc la nuit au camping qui fait face à la ville et en profiterons pour prendre une bonne douche, faire une lessive et le plein d’eau.
