100 nights in the van! And we're both still alive ;) We woke to more beautiful weather! A little windy as forecast, but lovely blue skies. It took us a while to get ready for a ride as it was so beautiful sitting in the sun by the water! We eventually got going and rode to Osor; in shorts and tshirt!!!!! We wandered around the old city and stopped at the first open coffee ...

Windiest night ever. Worst sleep. It was like sleeping on one of those bucking Bulls. Poor Percy was getting thrown around everywhere in the wind. The day started by extracting sea urchin spikes from Mats feet! Too much fun at the beach yesterday :) We headed to Valun, a cute town, much more modern than Lubenice, right in the water. A cute little spot! Then we drove to Ustrine. We hiked down to the beach and had lunch on the rocks near some old ruins. Then we went to the ...

We were thrilled to wake up to clear blue skies! We went straight down to Mali Bok to check it out in daylight. Still not overwhelmed!! We drove to Lubenice. The roads are so narrow! Luckily we passed other cars where there was room to move over. Some spots we would have had to reverse a long way! We wandered through the old town of Lubenice before hiking down to the Sveti Ivan beach. Well worth the walk; it's beautiful! Clear blue water and nobody around. We were ...

... ride to Cres. Once we landed we drove through Cres town to Orlec, and then down to Mali Bok beach. There was another van there too! We had to park on quite an angle! After cooking up a storm for dinner we walked down to the beach. It was a long way down! We weren't overly excited about what we saw - we're too spoilt in Australia! Although it was very dark; we'll try again tomorrow. We found a great spot for some stargazing before heading to ...

Coastal Istria - Pula, Rovinj, and Porec

Istria is the northwestern corner of Croatia, a peninsula in the Adriatic Sea that was long culturally a mix of Italians and Slavs. Most of the Italians moved out after Istria became part of Yugoslavia, but their influence lingers in the culture, cuisine, and architecture of the region. Istria was part of the Roman Empire, the Byzantine Empire, and the Republic of Venice, so the architecture and monuments of its towns have elements of those eras of Italian control, and ...
