... up close because the tide was low. We then decided to hike up to the top of the island. Wow! This was a great hike, the prettiest hike I've ever done. Along the way we visited other shrines and we were able to witness a private ceremony. Cool! We continued to hike up to 2000 feet on stairs alone!!!! It was tough, but we did it. And it was worth it! The views from the observatory were incredible. We decided to take the cable car down and that was also cool! Our next stop ...

We had to tear ourselves away to get the last shuttle bus back to town ...

It's been a week since we tried that amazing cheesecake in Fukuoka, and we're still talking about it. We've been trying to find some elsewhere, but not luck. Tonight we settled for Mr. Donut instead, but we're keeping an eye out!

... seat your naked self upon and shower and thoroughly clean yourself before entering the water. Shampoo and rinse are provided. The stools are those little things with legs only about three inches high - a bit of a challenge.

I was lucky enough to be in the Onsen with three delightful Japanese women, one who spoke a little English. We had a lovely chat and they took me to the other two pools available, one outside in the open air, and another up stairs. Just ...
