    ... entry/exit to the city was known by the marble speckles in the road. The way to the ***** houses was show by a big cock n balls carved into the road, pointing the direction. There was no sewerage system in Pompeii, the roads ran with ****. The road therefore were not used for foot traffic, instead people used the sidewalk and there are large rock stepping stones to cross the road without getting feet wet.     On Saturday morning Michael took Gran (Richenda) to the train station for her European holiday was ending and she was to fly from Rome that afternoon. We packed up and said our goodbyes to Lucia and braved the chaos on the roads back to Naples to catch our train to Rome.
