... guests. Peter and Dinah were leaving, and were collected by Deana for transfer to Budapest. Roy took me back to the hotel, with a detour to the centre of Eger, a lovely old town, to get some postcards. I took advantage of the spacious indoor pool before supper, where Roy kindly kept me company as he was waiting for his latest guest. [L]Feeling a little less than at peace with Slovakia we headed further south to the Hungry Border. Our first stop in Hungry was the home of the Lipanzer horses Szilvasvarad. Visited the local horse stud and watched the stupid foals playing. Nothing like the smell of stables to brighten the spirits. PS still raining heavily, add a bit of thunder and lightening ...

... the natural stone, including the subterranean rooms used by the blacksmith ("it would get hot down here" said Laura looking at the fireplace), and the dungeon ("smells funny down here" said Sam). Stairs were also carved into the rock between levels of the main castle grounds. There was a wheel that you could walk in to turn the mechanisms for grinding gun powder, and a nice display of dioramas depicting famous battles/wars from Hungarian ...
