... baby on the way. We stopped at a taverna by an amazing beach. The food was very average, the beer was good, the water looked several shades of turquoise & quite choppy, the sand was golden and Lance got a rusty nail through his foot. Luckily his tetanus is all up to date. The beach was located close to the islands airport. The planes were coming in to land what seemed like every couple of minutes. Waiting for the bus back to the port I made friends with a couple of Californians, a guy and a girl. They were headed to Naxos too. The guy was nice (a software engineering hobbyist) but the girl seemed a bit aloof and gave the impression I was an imposition ...

... and headed up the coast road, stopping at a couple of beaches on our way back to the hotel. The beaches were quite gravelly, with lots of pebbles, great little taverna, and the water was so warm it was like being in a bath. After the coolness of the waters in Santorini and Mykonos, it was exceptionally nice to get in and have a float about in the near-waveless water.

Now what to do for dinner. WE thought to try out one of our ...
