... or 3 day Mahout training course. (Its for members of the public with lots of money!!)

We were very surprised to be given a room to change into some mahout clothes and were told we were going to bath with the elephants. :-) :-)

... a little nervous at this point as we began a quick training class in Thai commands to help control the elephant, before we were literally thrown in at the deep end. Our elephants came over for a meet and greet, mine was a small siix year old male named 'AI' who was very cute and friendly and Daves, a giant 32 year old female named 'Pretchuup'. Dave was now more than terrified as he was confronted with his new giant friend. We got stuck in straight away practising our commands ...

... They forced strong Thai whiskey and beer on us while encouraging us to use their barrel of water to drench those surrounding us. It was so much fun! We eventually met up with James’s cousin again and made it home, though it had definitely been a highlight of our trip!

The following morning Aow made us another delicious meal of rice with morning glory, omelette, and cabbage with mangos and grapes for dessert. All of the food that Aow cooked was ...
