... The path was narrow and steep but the elephant handled it well. I on the other hand had to hold on tightly to the basket as we were being tossed from side to side by the motion of the elephant. Once we crested the ridge we came out to a road, went thru more water and then did a little more dirt trail and then it was over. ... we headed into town with James’s second cousin Pon to participate in the Songkran water festivities. The main street of Lampang had been taken over by thousands of people of all ages sitting at the side of the road or on the back of trucks splashing, dumping, spraying or shooting icy water on each other and anyone who happened to walk by.
