    We were supposed to go on a hike and catch the night train at 7pm today. We were gonna buy them at the station but the hotel said we would buy them here. She also told us that the train left at 4...not 7. Haha good thing we figured that out or we would be stuck in Chiang Mai till the morning.     ... power plant and coal mine.

    The 6 of us spent the afternoon driving by the 2400 MW coal power plant and overlooking the 60 year old lignite coal mine. It was an incredible site. We enjoyed the tour, seeing some of the countryside, and spending the day with locals.

    Our next stop was Baan Sao Nak, a teak house of Northern Thai and Burmese architecture.

    Laura loved the elephant centre so much she decided to write this one! We set off from Koh Phi Phi to Chiang Mai, and a few hours later we arrived at the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre. We had decided to do the three day home stay, where you learn how to become a Mahout- an elephant keeper!
