Today was going to be the most challenging driving so far. The roads weren´t high this time, it was just windy gravel ripio for most of the 190km from Cachi to Cafayate. After a few photos around Cachi and a quick look in the museum, we left around 11.30am. We had a stop for lunch in Molinos, and arrived in Cafayate around 5.30. The road was worse than bad. Our poor VW Gol took a hammering. A lot of the road had this little ridges in it, which would make the whole car judder, sometimes so muc...

This made us very thirsty and at lunch we drank a little too much thinking that we were heading back to our hotel. What we had failed to remember was that our guide was driving us out to Argentina's answer to Macchu Pichu. Within ten minutes of setting off Ian and I were sound O.

The Ruinas de Quilmes is quite ...

Cafayate, Northern Argentina, Argentina denis.dftook a full-day tour from Salta to Cafayate... a beautiful journey intended on bringing us to some delicious wine, the latter of which never happened. Sure, we tasted some wine, but it was so-so and the people were stingy (i mean, come on! dont you hate going to a 'bodega,' as the wineries are called, and having the owners be stingy with their samples?! Jeezycreezy... i mean, why the hell do you think we came there in the first ...
Cafayate, Northern Argentina, Argentina briancordova... was tiny and we were immediately surrounded by people peddling their hostels, so we walked over the road to get some space.

Katie had chosen a couple of hostels from the books, so off we set with all our bags, in the blazing hot sun.

We had to walk about 12 blocks to the first place, which was nice enough but very overpriced with only average rooms left. The second one was a 10 block ...
