... in the town square. It didn’t take long to see why. On the sea front we were confronted by 3 giant babies climbing up the side of a building and a 3 foot Santa scaling a balcony to an apartment. If anyone has seen Childs Play – the movie, the Santa seemed very Chucky-esque to me!

We walked along to one of the 2 piers. The weather had become bleak, dank, cold wet and windy. This, however, didn’t stop a sole would be surfer trying to ...

In Suriname it is easy and not expensive to arrange your private means of transport, if you don't want to rent a car. - Rent a bike in Paramaribo (e.g. at Zus en Zo), like many Dutch visitors do. Make a bike tour in and around the city. The countryside of Pramaribo's surroundings is flat and the roads are OK. - Take a taxi and bargain for a a good price. Your private driver ...

... wanted to take me on a tour of a brewery, so on we went to the "De Halve Maan" brewery, or in English the "Half Moon'. Our tour guide Andrew had so much energy, and was hilarious! He had such a passion for beer, he is not the first person in his family to work for this brewery, in fact he has worked in the brewery since he was a teenager. Some of his jokes I didn't quite get but Jaey thought he was hysterical, and most of the people on the tour were American or English so they didn't ...
