I am feeling relieved as Peter slept last night and woke up feeling a lot better! His Gram's "recipe" worked along with the pharmacist's concoction. Lian got us breakfast and we headed out to the bike tour meeting place in Burg Square. It was really fun albeit a little scary at times navigating around pedestrians, horses and buggies, cars and scooters. We got separated once from Nathalie, our guide, and one of the women crashed her bike! We rode all through the ...

We made our way back to the square ...

There are a number of one day excursions that you can undertake independently or in a group. In Suriname it is easy and not expensive to arrange your private means of transport, if you don't want to rent a car. - Rent a bike in Paramaribo (e.g. at Zus en Zo), like many Dutch visitors do. Make a bike tour in and around the city. The countryside of Pramaribo's surroundings is flat and the roads are OK. - Take a taxi and bargain for a a good price. Your private driver ...

    In Brugge (Day Thirteen)

... It was 25€ and costed the same as a shared room, but I was only able to book it for one night. I walked up the steep and creaky staircase three floors to the top and opened the door to my room. I was pleasantly surprised - it was nice, clean, and looked new. There was a small twin bed and lots of shelving. The sink wasn't working yet, but the room had a good view over Brugge. The shared bathrooms were new as well, but in a strange configuration. Nevertheless, ...
