The bus stop is located about 1km outside of town, so after the bus dropped me off, I followed the "Odos Alexandrou Magnou" ("Street of Alexander the Great") through various cotton fields, cotton storage sheds, and tractors pulling cotton-laden trailers to Alexander the Great Square, where there is a statue of the eponymous hero and signs pointing in the direction of the museum.       ... The streets are crammed full of cars parked in every tiny space available including all the corners of streets. There are traffic jams in all the main streets, but the drivers seem very patient, and there are huge queues of people at all the bus stops.

      There is a lovely vibe about the city though, especially near the water ...

      ... that we shall have a wonderful time since everything looked cozy and beautiful. People kept coming in and very soon there was not a single table without people smoking.
