A travel blog entry by keshiak on Aug 08, 2015

I need to mark Basel on the map & would also like to say to anyone reading this that might be planning a trip to the area, we stayed at The Passage hotel - it was EXCELLENT ! and I would highly recommend it; awesome shower, big rooms, comfy bed, mini fridge (if you can afford that sort of thing), a fantastic gym downstairs, and just a hop, skip, and jump away from anything and everything you could possibly want. ...

... no time as the roads were empty we decided to continue driving. Having looked at the forecast and knowing there's a pool at the Luxembourg site. We did not want to pay 12 Euro each to take the Gondola chairlift. For dinner we drove to Engel Restaurant. I had Rehragout (Venison Ragout) with mixed mushroom and red currant sauce, and Spaetzle. It was magnificent. Best meal! Back to our Hotel Silberdistel to drink the Zepeliu red wine and sweet wine we bought ...

Fine and sunny, 16-27deg, (feels like 31) 39 km, av. 15.4km/h (tot 623km). A 2.7km ride saw us out of Sw (for good this trip) and into France via an unmanned border post. This is also the last time we'll see Germany, albeit from across the Rhine. We'll miss the German/Swiss efficiency but we won't miss the Swiss cost of living or the need to juggle two currencies. I've read that one in eight Swiss are worth a million Francs. I reckon they need every one of them to ...
