A Rest
Ah. Finally. A rest. 26 hours it took to get from Leh to Jammu. Pretty good time actually. 750 KM in 26 hours. Average of 30km/hr. Well, for the road we were on, its pretty damn good.

The Yatra
... waterfalls. The hillsides have been eroded by years of hard rain and you can almost see the landslides about to happen. At many places on the highway there here large rocks that had rolled onto the pavement. One particularly huge boulder sat smack in the middle of the road. Kind of scary!

Stopover in nondescript Jammu en route to Srinagar
... up to the reception desk of a hotel down a small side street and asked if there was somewhere with Internet access nearby, whereupon I got blank stares from the three guys loitering there. I turned to go out and immediately opposite is a shop with two A4-sized "INTERNET" signs stuck on the doors. If the guys had good eyesight they might have even been able to read the signs from where they were standing!

Pink Eye and and Truckstop stays - Jammu
Had a busting ride today.
Keen to get out of Jammu where we had achieved nothing other than Rob getting a swollen eye and laughed hysterically at how unbelievably wrong the waiters could get our orders we packed up heading for the war torn city of Sri****r.
Getting back into the mountains was an absolute blessing, passing a 3 year old girl being held out a bus window while she released her breakfast was nearly not so much a blessing.
