... back to the main road with Sensu-ji temple. But, we discovered another road that seems to accompany many of the districts. The arcade road, with pachinko machines and claw machines is something we've become pretty accustomed to. Although, we always like going in anyway. Kat has somewhat of a gambling problem (not a bad one) regarding the claw machines, she is simply determined to win a large prize from one. I (being the nerd I am) simply can't pass up exploring ...
Taito, Kanto, Japan seanandkat... it was a Monday night), so we only stayed for a couple of drinks. We walked around for a little longer, people watching in Shibuya is very interesting.....and decided to head back to the hostel to get some much needed sleep since we were getting up at 0350am to see the hustle and bustle of the Tsukiji fish Market. Up at zero dark thirty really sucked. It also sucked that we had to pay for the cab fare to get to the fish market since the public transportation ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan chrisquared... not to put it in again "this machine does not accept cards issued outside of Japan, Do not try the rejected card again! (it knew me too well). Well now what am I going to do, "I know! i will go find a 7/11! they have those here and I am pretty sure they have an international bank machine!. Now my 10 minute journey to the dollar store has turned into an hour and a half journey to the dollars store, then 10 minutes past the train station, to ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan curiousface... s Running was amazing, will live with me for a long time. Meanwhile, Miss Ulster was bringing Northern Ireland to Japan by doing their classic line of oi oi oi ****ing oi during the track. Seeing 300 Japs doing this, obviously not knowing what they are saying was worth the entrance fee alone. Although, another weird part of Japanese culture, you are not allowed to take any photos in clubs and bars and they were particularly tight about this last night, even ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan alwill1... for a JR Pass when you arrive in one of the main JR stations. The JR Pass offices are dedicated offices, so don't go to the normal ticket offices when in Japan, they'll only turn you away. Check the exchange order booklet for simple maps on where to find the JR Pass offices. The staff at the offices speak impeccable English and can reserve seats for you as well. 8. You can buy 7/14/21 day JR Passes and they will be valid from the date you ...
Tokyo, Kanto, Japan ramdux... told my hairdresser and he pointed to a small dressing room with a black robe in it. I looked at the room with the robe hanging up in it, to all the other customers. They had their black robes on top of their clothes. 'Well, I'm not getting undressed if no-one else has to,' I said firmly to Hideko. The haridresser, sensing a problem, standing nearby, leaned over to see if he could help. 'Sorry, could you repeat that?' Hideko asked. I repeated ...
Tokyo, Japan emmaireland... that makes the sperm." Nice. (Later on we went grocery shopping and I found some stuff that looked like these two items which I have photographed for your reference). At 3pm I headed back to school and after Japanese law Chris and I tried out a place that we walk by on the way to school for dinner called Seven Wonders. It is a modern cafeish loking place with some photography and strange books displayed. There was an English menu and we got a ...
Tokyo, Japan jenfifi... are only 2 toilets and 1 washbasin available according to the layout. I was not in there yet, but the lack of a shower might be a problem. ;) Kai is sleeping or trying to. He is pretty tired. I for once am not. I could go on with the day just as usually and sleep tonight instead, but I guess Kai will be awake then... I will add some photos of the hostel and the surrounding area tomorrow or so.
Tokyo, Japan coplann... but eventually all four of us reunited in front of the Imperial. The day called for a 4 hour nap to recover, then off to dinner at our now "usual" sushi restaurant across the street with another of Dad's coworkers who had just gotten in. By the time we returned it was 11 pm, and even with the nap my cold (and let's face it, the beer) got the better of me and I turned in. Per usual, the full range of pictures can be found at my online gallery.
