... There's about six vantage points that you can reach via stairs and walkways and I visited them all and took dozens of photos. The stairs and walkways were covered in snow and ice but the sun was shining, and despite it being zero degrees it felt warmer because it was very still. Next I returned to Chamonix and we headed for Switzerland. We didn't know too much about Switzerland so made a uneducated decision to head for the city of Lausanne which ...

... all had no room at the inn and the journey became more tense the longer it went on. Having thought we'd be camped up by 2pm, it was about 5pm before a kindly Frau squeezed us in (literally) to a space that didn't/doesn't really exist and robbed us of 18 euros. And that represented a bargain as the prices had lowered the further we went along Bodensee. Which is crazy. Because the further you get, eastwards, the more beautiful it becomes. The lake is ...

Full of history and amazing buildings and people were everywhere. It was great to walk through and enjoy. We had our own party at the beast and took advantage of the fact that we had no neighbours and turned the music ...

... long ago. It reminded me of a modern-day cruise ship - though it was scary to read that they had actual dedicated smoking facilities on a hydrogen-filled dirigible!

After the museum, we went to the lakeshore to climb the Moleturm, an open staircase leading to a lookout tower. Nice views of the town and the Lake. We spent a little more time wandering the town, and found a Zeppelinbrunnen - a fountain with an airship motif. But it ...

    A Hike in Tyrol

... we headed back down and out of town, and decided to make a beeline for tonight's stop in Lindau. This is a resort town, with the oldest part sitting on an island in the Bodensee (Lake Constance), connected to the mainland by a causeway. We arrived after 6PM, checked in, and parked. Now - dinner or exploring?

We decided to take a walk around the island while there was still some sunlight. The harbor is very pretty, and the coast also offered some ...
