... spent too much time investigating. Aside from a few months of an Introductory German course that I failed and dropped, I certainly have no 1st hand experience with their culture.
Planning, plotting, and practicing is how I will accomplish this irresponsible feat of travel and confusion.
Godspeed and good luck I've wished myself well in advance.
Who knows?
Maybe I'll never even make it out of Frankfurt...
Again it seems to be an escape from the inevitable. But somehow I actually think it's way more than that.
Why do I think that? I'm sure you are wondering what special thing happened at the end of my last entry in the first world trip ...
It was sooooo cold in Frankfurt, we didn't want to spend much time here since we had no winter clothing. WE got in late, went to our hotel, then back to the airport to get our flight to Bangkok moved up. We though it would be at 8 that night, but they managed to get us on the next flight out, which was pretty much within the hour. Woohooo! I also kept speaking Italian in Germany... so confused with all the languages.

Unfortunately it was time to call it a trip, so we all piled in the car and Flo kindly drove us home on the ultra-efficient Autobahn where nobody drives slowly in the left lane.
Auf wiedersehen! It was a great trip!

Apparently the plane difficulties were very minor, but it would've been reassuring to have someone announce that fact, IN ENGLISH and NOT JUST IN GERMAN mind you, at some point while we waited. I have a bit of a phobia about flying and I found myself flirting dangerously close to having a panic attack for a few minutes there. Thankfully I managed to grab a ...

So unfortunately, the museum was closed on the day that I went to visit. They didn't give any particular reason for it, and that was a bit frustrating, because it looked like it was really good. There was art work that the Princes of Salm-Salm had collected and also an intact view of the rooms of royalty from a couple of hundred years ago. Oh well! So I ended up just buying admission to the gardens and walking around the ...
... pack I followed her instructions to the letter and took the three trains over to the Homburg bahnhof where I stood outside, dithering cold in anticipation of step two. Apart from three or four taxi drivers peering comfortably into their dash-mounted DVD players, there was nothing or no-one around. No shops, no bars, no sounds or sign of life, nothing. Just a stinging cold chill in the air and a damp smoggy haze that filtered the ...

Frankfurt (am Main), Germany globetrekkerI've been in Frankfurt several times, mostly checking out the gift show in my capacity as a trade show geek in general, promoter of my frog line in particular.
