... to the mountain had been closed, the cruise and cable car were closed due to unsafe conditions. We at least had a nice lunch. After taking us up to another, lower mountain lift that was still being run, the tour guide tried to describe how beautiful Mt. Fuji is when you can see it. (It is amazing, Mt. Fuji looks exactly like the Alps (at least the way they looked when I spent several days in the rain in Salzburg). The company found a nearby lake and arranged for ...

At Kawaguchiko Station, I was about to call K's Mount Fuji Hostel when a girl asked me if by any chance if I was going to a hostel and if it was K's. We both needed to be picked up by their shuttle. ... absolutely don't get a single word except Shibazakura! We succeeds in telling her we're going there. Suddenly her daughter comes and enters the surreal conversation. By the time we go back to the bus stop, she arrives with her car and tell us to jump on: she's driving us to the festival! I almost cry for such kindness! I wish I could thank her better than an excited Arigatoooooooo...but damn...how annoying having language barriers!! Shibazakura festival is packed with tour ...

Today we say Matane (see you soon) to Tokyo and our friends, as we set off to Mt Fujisan. We have to take the Metro and then 2 trains and it's about a 3 hours journey. The public transport system is incredibly efficient and trains are rarely delayed, therefore our 8 minute connection to change platform and buy tickets shouldn't be an issue.

Being in Shinjuku station at 8 am isn't for the fainted hearted! It looks like an ocean of silent and ...
