So second time was a charm for me at Mt Fuji. The weather was much better the second time round and I not only saw the mountain but even managed to climb it!

Honesty, my timing with the climb was not great. I slept in and under estimated how long the bus journey to the fifth station of the mountain takes (40 mins) so didn't actually set off climbing till two o'clock in the afternoon. This meant I was in ...

The visibility kept getting worse and worse as we climbed higher and higher onto tougher and tougher terrain, but ...

Mt Fuji and the town Fujiyoshida were a nice change from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Nice clean fresh air and lots of places to walk and cycle made it a perfect place for me. Unfortunatly, the weather was really cloudy when I visited so I didn`t even see the mountain! However, I rented a bike ...

... awe inspiring, the mountain rises out of almost nothing and towers over all the surrounding ranges. I had assumed that the mountain was part of a chain and would be part of a larger chain but Mount Fuji may as well be the Misty Mountain from the Hobbit in terms of its lonely yet glorious position. The weather was hazy for most of the time unfortunately (Michael said it was typical for this time of the year) and at some points in ...
