... day and the first day I've worn thongs since Bruges!!!!
Walked to the beach and waded in the water but too cold to go swimming.
Went to Fife for dinner which was recommended by Peter from the hostel and also the barman on Friday night as the best place in town to get good local food at local prices.
Had an awesome meal of Sarma (mince wrapped in cabbage leaves) and Fozol - bean and ham dish.

Sunday went to market ...
Split, Croatia richlum... chilled out and went to bed.

Of course what we didn’t know is that the next day, the island was going to experience a full on storm. We were told it might rain a little that day, but raining a little was a big understatement. From the time we woke up the next morning until after we left two days later, it was POURING down rain and VERY windy. We were house-bound for 2 days. The only time we went out was one evening when the rain ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia mdaa... something quiet. This spot is exactly what we were hoping for! There are only about fifty people at the campsite, which means that it is private without us being the only ones at the campsite, which seems to have been the trend lately! We bargained with the lady at the desk and paid for the cheapest spot but were able to park in the most expensive with the best views…they are unbelievable. Sailboats are going past now and we ...
Seget Vranjica, Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Croatia armajor7... to find us a good restaurant. We liked the sound of fried calamari and decided to try Konoba Gust. What a great choice!!! The fried and grilled squid was just amazing! We also got to try black gnocchi with squid and ham. Another great meal!

We wandered around town for a bit and took some night pictures before heading off to bed. Tomorrow it is time to stretch out on Croatia’s sexist beach, Zlatni Rat!
Bol, Croatia monkeytoes... his Croatian mother had taken him from Zagreb to Bol help him improve his health. Leon had no hair but in all other aspects appeared to be perfectly healthy and full of vigor. He had a gentle and inquisitive nature about him and Collette treated him like he was her underpaid employee or like a brother. In other words, badly. At one point after Collette grabbed his cup he was digging with (she had the exact same cup of her own in her other hand) it made him mad enough to ...
Bol, Croatia fezmonkey... Rick slips out each morning, returning with a fresh loaf of crusty bread for breakfast. (we also bought a broom and were charged separately for the handle and brush for a total of $2.30) The harbor and houses are made of large blocks of white marble, very Venetian in style and a great solar oven about noon on. Getting around is easy in this pedestrian only area and most of our errands center around the square which contains the church, bus station ...
Hvar Island, Croatia salida... up. Then it got louder. Then there was whistling. Turns out that the only bar on the island is right outside our front gate, and people looooooooooove to whistle when they party here. We kept this in mind for future nights and hit the hay. The next day we decided to go boating. We went to the local boat renter, and ordered up their finest seagoing vessel. It was wonderful. Off we went at a break neck speed of about 5 kilometres per hour, and found a nice ...
Bol, Croatia dangerchristophHello folks.. figure i'll treat you to a quick little blurb about whats happened since last we spoke.. As we speak chris and I are chilling in some crazy village on the most beautiful water i've seen in quite some time. It seems no one really works here.. We're staying in a locals converted house for 11 euro a night, and its absolutely amazing. Its soo much easier travelling with no plans.. haha we just show up and get shown a place to stay. we ...
Bol, Croatia natedawg... a fridge and everything. They've been great hosts. We then went down the road and had some fantastic food from a little restaurant (around $40 for a seafood dinner inc wine!)and then explored the town. We are actually living in the old townwhere there are loads of shops and old buildings, at night it's very romantic with little lights everywhere. It's really nice here - It's great that you ...
Korcula, Croatia mikelis... than I thought it was - with white rock hills with a little speckling of vegetation here and there. We didn't really see that much of Zadar, to the disappointment of the guy at reception at the hostel, we were only using it as a hub to get to the Plitvicka Lakes. So straight after we arrived in town we headed back out on another 3 and half hour bus ride (just after we had done about 4 and half hours) to the lakes....they better be good! We were going on the recommendation of quite a ...
