After successfully anchoring the boat, Kirk decided he needed to try and cool his beer down, by tying the bottle around our anchor rope and leaving it in the sea. But what he managed to do was unanchor us and send us floating into the rocks yet again, but disaster was avoided as we were able to get the anchor to grab onto something at the 3rd attempt and stop us moving.

Split. Our turn round point. At 43 degrees north this is the same latitude as Christchurch and it seems appropriate that we needn't go any further. Besides the weather is now quite cool, we have duvet's on the beds at night and a sweatshirt on in the evenings.

I arrived at my hostel at about 8am to run into a British girl I knew from Milan exchange staying there with her firend. Not knowing where to start in Split, I joined them on an Island Tour BYO Booze Cruise, which started, ended (and continued) at Charlie’s Bar. ... left alot to be desired, so we made haste to the inner city. Here the cafe/outdoor bars rule supreme. There's a few streets, with nothing but cafes. It was getting close to midnight and the cafes were still full. Don't think about ordering food, you would swear these waiters haven't even heard of solid food groups.
