Good clean hotel perfectly positioned in the Centre of Villach. Rooms are relatively basic but comfortable and the bathrooms are good. Safe courtyard parking is a bonus. Breakfast was good with a nice variety of food choices. A really nice hotel choice for the price range. Nil issues at all.

A big day was planned as I had located a Triumph dealer in the town of Villach which was some 370 plus kms from Innsbruck. The bike needed servicing and the rear Tyre was looking a bit second hand. Marg needed her hair serviced as well so we set off straight after breakfast with a mindset to make frequent stops to break up the rather long haul. …

Our accommodation is a gorgeous 2 bedroom log cabin with kitchen and balcony looking through the forest to the bluest river in the World. They keep goats, who escape often. This holiday just gets better, more walking and rafting adventures and with fabulous food and the scenery is incredible. Our new favorite country. ...

    Tripping

... head off to meet a coach for our half day trip to Bohinj. There is a service bus that goes from Bled to Bohinj, but we had foolishly as it turned out, been persuaded that the ski cable car at Mount Vogel was a "must do" and was easiest to do as a half day trip(€31pp). There are about 12 people from our hotel who had been similarly advised so we get the bus and it is about 45 minutes of a very pleasant drive to Bohinj, a bigger lake than Bled but much ...

... an easy walk although not wheelchair friendly. But the views are stunning, photos do not do it justice, you can see to the bottom of deep pools where perch and trout loiter avoiding the fishermen further downstream. The waterfalls and rills of fast running water are mesmerising and we walk for about an hour then stop for the inevitable coffee and water back at the ticket office before coming back into town ...
