... we keep forgetting to lower our expectations of Asian cities, because we expect them to be walkable with nice architecture, green spaces and pavements. We keep forgetting that Asian cities do not work like European ones, and that so many of them are not pleasant at all to be in. ... off a nearby island (part of the itinerary) due to the lost time and concerns about the engines. But when we left Anak Krakatau, we circled the island for a good look at it, and the cloud cover lifted just enough to offer up the wanted views.

Given the level of volcanic activity, one wonders what the future has in store for Krakatoa's child, or vice versa.

A fitting end to my eight-week SE Asia adventure, another experience not to be forgotten. Now it's time to go ...

Are there Muslims in the UK? 87% of Indonesia is Muslim making it the most populous Muslim majority nation, compared to England where just 5% of our population is Muslim.
