... flexibility we needed with tight scheduling and just 4 days. The Croatian woman in my French Language class suggested that we visit Dubrovnik in Croatia because they film Game of Thrones there. Once she mentioned GOT I knew that was exactly what Conor would want to do for his birthday.

Dubrovnik is a 14 hour drive from Nice - so long, but manageable. To break up the driving some I planned a small handful of stops on the way to Dubrovnik and for the trip home. Our ...

... badge. It saved us some time. Simon went and found some coffee to keep us going. The train left on time at 6.39 and we headed to Wein. We had decided when planning our holiday that as we had the time we would travel the more relaxed and scenic way by train rather than flying. We certainly made the right choice. We have a Eurail pass valid for 10 days of travel which did not need to be all in a row. We had paid to reserve seats as we and the travel agent were not sure how busy ...

... spacious and elegant, sitting as it does amidst the diplomatic quarter and a huge park. The city is wonderfully compact and well geared up for tourism. A bit like a smallerPrague or Krakow but without the hoardes and certainly no stag dos. A table in a bar is very achievable at anytime.

Finished the day off with a free concert and then a great nights sleep, thanks in part to some top notch ear plugs not that the place ...
